Throughout the month of September 2008, Dixmont, Maine artist
Brenda Ferguson will exhibit her original pastel paintings at the
Rochester Public Library. The month long exhibit is open to the public
and will remain on display from September 2-30,2008 during regular
library hours.
The show will feature approximately forty of the artist's latest works including landscapes and still lifes inspired by her rural Dixmont surroundings. All paintings are original works of art and are available for purchase. Brenda is a former teacher of hearing impaired students and speech-language clinician. She is a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with degrees in elementary education and speech therapy and holds a Master's Degree in deaf education from Gallaudet University in Washington, D. C. Brenda was employed in public schools for nineteen years, fourteen as a speech therapist at the Etna-Dixmont School in Maine.
![]() Brenda has had several solo exhibitions. Her art was featured in a six-page article in the July 2004 issue of American Artist magazine along with an interview. Recent awards include first place in the pastel category at the Bangor Art Society's 2005 juried competition and The Hunter Award for Excellence in the 2006 show.
