October 2009 Art Exhibit
Kathy Mallat

The Rochester Public Library is pleased to present an exhibit of paintings by renowned local artist, author, and librarian, Kathy Mallat. Kathy’s exhibit features 21 pieces worked in mixed media featuring a wide array of subjects, many inspired by nature. Some pieces include a fascinating technique involving creating a painting over specially prepared and painted paste paper, which is beautiful in itself. Kathy’s work is available for purchase.

Kathy, a resident of Lebanon, Maine, is an award winning author and illustrator of several children’s books, including titles such as “Mama Love” and “Brave Bear”.

When not teaching art or working at the Rochester Public Library, Kathy is in her studio creating new pieces. Her exhibit will be displayed at the Library through mid-October.
