Rochester Public Library at Bachelder, who in addition to being an
artist is a writer
and musician, exhibits his unorthodox and playful drawings, paintings,
found
objects, assemblages and photographs in galleries in “This exhibit represents a departure from my usual work”, says Bachelder, who over the past several years has focused increasingly on abstraction as an artist. “I have become known more for my found object assemblages, abstract paintings and unusual drawings than for traditional subjects, but while my involvement in figurative work has been somewhat dormant, it continues to be strong as ever. It’s nice to revisit this, the quieter side of me”. Bachelder joined 21 other abstract artists
for an exhibit
entitled “The Joy of Abstraction,” put together by AAGNE – the Abstract
Artists’ Group of New England – in June at the Newburyport Art
