May 2011 Art Exhibit
Original Work by Artist and Rochester Resident
Daryl-Ann Hurst

The Rochester Public Library is hosting an exhibit of original work by artist and Rochester resident, Daryl-Ann Hurst, during the month of May.

Hurst’s new exhibit features geometric abstractions from the “Puzzle” series, which she began 2009.  The “Puzzle” series is based on the idea that visual art doesn’t have to be static.  Some of the pieces are cut apart, mounted on magnetic sheets and displayed on a metal surface.  In other pieces, smaller compositions occur within larger paintings.

Born and raised in California, Hurst moved to New England in the late 1980s.  She first began showing her work in 1978, and has exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Boston, as well as at various locations in New Hampshire.  This is her second exhibit at the Rochester Public Library.
