The Rochester Public Library presents:
Knitting for Beginners!
Classes Facilitated by Doris Breton

knitting for beginners

August 28-September 18th
Wednesday mornings from 10am-12pm

These classes are free, but there is a short list of suggested supplies for you to bring with you to class.

You will need to bring:

  • One pair 10 size 8 knitting needles (metal or bamboo)
  • One skein of 4oz 4 ply worsted weight yarn
  • Knitting sewing needle
  • Small package of place markers
  • Two medium stitch holders
  • Tape measure
  • Scissors
  • Small notebook & pen or pencil
  • File folder to keep knitting patterns
  • Tote bag or plastic storage box for your supplies and projects

Learn basic knitting skills such as how to cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, bind-off, and yarn over. Learn techniques to make projects such as: Pot Holders, Towels, Mittens, Slippers, and more!
