November 2018 - Sherry Palmer

The Rochester Public Library is pleased to present the artwork of Sherry Palmer during the month of November.

Of her work, Palmer says:

"I paint outside, on site, in oils and watercolor. The gestures of the land, not the fine detail, interest me. Painting for me is a process of selection and simplification, a reduction to essentials. On the Isle of Skye, Scotland, where I have traveled for 30 years, I found the perfect catalyst for how I enjoy painting. The island landscape made me a better painter. I return every year to its vast vistas where theatrical light and moving mist continually redefine the structure of the land and where Nature remains my teacher.

I am delighted to share my new paintings with you at the Rochester Public Library."

The Rochester Public Library is located at 65 South Main Street. Call 332-1428 or visit www.rpl.lib.nh.us for more information.
