July 2019 - Suzanne Pretty

The Rochester Public Library is pleased to present the artwork of Suzanne Pretty during the month of July.

Of her work Pretty writes:

The thread of the environment and its fragmentation runs through my work. I have drawn on the everyday world around me for my imagery. I work with the contrast between the construction with the powerful equipment and the impact on the natural environment. Not images of just a bucolic landscape but the effects modern technology and the heavy equipment have on every aspect of our life.

Pretty received her art degree from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and has received numerous awards for her work including two Artist Fellowships from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. She is a member of the League of NH Craftsmen and participates in exhibitions locally and throughout the US.

The Rochester Public Library is located at 65 South Main Street. Call 332-1428 or visit www.rpl.lib.nh.us for more information.
