The Rochester Public Library is pleased to have the artwork of Elizabeth Leone Holmes during the month of May.

Elizabeth writes:

"Elizabeth Leone Holmes (Betsy) is an educator and outdoor/plein air oil painter with a passion for nature – the seasons, weather, light… all of it is inspiration for her work. Recognizing that we are often too busy to notice the beauty around us, she is inspired to create paintings to remind us of the splendor that is our environment. Education is another passion; a retired library director and art history instructor, she continues to teach in the Lifelong Learning program at UNH. When not painting or planning classes, she is involved in a variety of conservation initiatives including sitting on the board of the Land Conservancy, monitoring conservation easements and “weed watching” for invasive species. You can learn more about Betsy at https://www.holmesartstudio.com/."
