November 2026 - Susanne Larkham
The Rochester Public Library is pleased to present the artwork of pastel artist Susanne Larkham during the month of November.
Title of Show: Bloom Where You're Planted
Susanne Larkham is a New Hampshire–based pastel artist whose contemporary representational paintings explore the interplay of color, light, memory, and lived experience. Rooted in realism and shaped by emotion, her work invites quiet reflection and a sense of recognition—moments when viewers feel both grounded and gently seen.
Originally from the Midwest, Larkham holds a BS in Secondary Art and Math Education from Taylor University. Her lifelong commitment to learning and teaching continues to inform her practice, including more than 900 volunteer hours as a docent guide and art educator at the Currier Museum of Art, where she leads visitors in close looking and visual inquiry.
A Signature Artist of the Pastel Society of New Hampshire and juried member of the Pastel Society of America, Larkham has exhibited her work in regional, national, and international juried exhibitions. Most recently, in 2026, her painting At First Blush was selected for the Pastel Society of America's Enduring Brilliance: International Juried Exhibition held at the National Arts Club in New York City.
Beyond the studio, Larkham is the owner of Bellami Fitness and founder of On a Lark Fine Art. Whether teaching movement or creating art, she is drawn to experiences that foster presence, curiosity, and connection. Ultimately, her paintings reflect a desire to find meaning in the familiar—and to create work that resonates with the memories, emotions, and quiet moments that make us feel more deeply connected to our lives.
