February 2024 - Sarah Cassani
The Rochester Public Library is pleased to present the artwork of Sarah Cassani during the month of February.
Sarah Cassani (b. 1980) is an artist and designer from southern Maine. Sarah holds a BFA in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design and she has worked in the fields of graphic design and fine art for over 20 years.
Sarah’s paintings are inspired by nature and the flowers growing in her garden. A hobby gardener, Sarah has carefully arranged and planted, observed and nurtured many plants which provide creative inspiration outside her door. With painterly realism, Sarah also incorporates antiques and heirlooms into her still life paintings, particularly objects with floral motifs. She juxtaposes these objects alongside flowers and considers how nature can bring comfort and spark happiness, both inside and outside of the home. Whether painting a fresh tulip, a carpet’s stylized flora, or a frosted flower on a cupcake, Sarah’s love of botanical subjects provides her with endless inspiration.
Sarah Cassani has participated in numerous juried exhibitions throughout New England. Her paintings are part of private collections throughout the United States.
Sarah’s work extends to the design of custom stationery, cards, gift wrap, and textiles — all with a floral spin and available at her online boutique: WildTerrace.com
