March 2016 - Anne Vaughan

The Rochester Public Library is pleased to host an exhibit of large, colorful paintings by local artist, Anne Vaughan during the month of March on the first floor of the Library.

Vaughan’s work is an expression of her life-long love of art, history, and painting. Vaughan, who comes from Pennsylvania where she was an attorney for legal services programs, says that now in retirement she has the chance to indulge her love of art to create her own work.

Vaughan says, “My work varies in subject and treatment, from landscapes to still lifes to abstracts and family portraits with many pieces having a political theme influenced by my advocacy for disadvantaged people, as well as reflecting on current world events.”

She is a member of and has enjoyed exhibiting with the Berwick Art Association, Kittery Art Association, the Seacoast Moderns, the Blackbird Studio, and York Art Association. Vaughan says she looks forward to the continuing expansion of the local art community and is proud to be a part of it.
