The Rochester Public Library is pleased to present the artwork of Kira Richard during the month of January. Richard's series of paintings, inspired by her love of natural curiositites, features undersea creatures delicately layered upon galactic backdrops. She feels that the "intertwining of the two worlds so far apart has a certain romance to it," that there's "something magical and strange seeing creatures of the see floating in the vacuum of space."

Richard's works are an extension of her own fantastical dreams and she has been creating art since she was a young child. She also makes jewelry, which is available for purchase at Skele-tones in Rochester, NH.
