American Impressionist Art

Don writes: "Don Jalbert is an award-winning artist and writer and has been painting for over 50 years. Influenced primarily by the French and American Impressionists, Don tries to capture the unique aspects of light during different times of the day. His primary subjects are the farms and landscapes of New England and the resident wildlife of the region. Don has studied art at Springfield College, Salem State College, and Mass College of Art and has a degree in Business Administration from Eastern Nazarene College

Don’s greatest influence from American Impressionism is Frank W. Benson. He lives and works in Epping, NH with his wife of 44 years and his three dogs. His resume includes teaching Web Development, Microsoft Computer Applications and Art at Central Catholic High School. It also includes 20 years as a football coach at St. John’s Prep, and over 10 years coaching field hockey. He is an avid reader, writer and bird watcher. He also loves music, military history, archaeology and scale modeling.

During the summer months Don can be found teaching watercolor among many other crafts at Camp Maranatha in New Durham, NH. His work can also be found at local libraries throughout the year."
